Intensity 3D

Sirius 3D founder, Steen Iversen, managed a pilot project in 2006, where Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen, Denmark became the first theater in the world capable of projecting digital 3D onto the dome.

The pilot project included pioneering Daimler Chrysler Corporation's Infitec (R) 3D interference filter glasses for public audiences. Infitec (R) is now adopted by Dolby Inc. and comprised in the successful Dolby 3D (R) theater system.

A research project on digital dome projection is currently going on, having the following objectives:

  • Increasing the size, resolution, and brightness to unprecedented levels, while
  • Maintaining robustness and ease of operation

The first phase of this project was successfully implemented in the Tycho Brahe Planetarium in april 2009, from which date it has been in regular use.
